KerbBank grants Kerbholz loans.

Customers can borrow Kerbhölzer for their own business model and must return the wood to KerbBank after use. The maximum loan term is three years. No interest is charged. The type of notching is determined independently by the contracting parties. Written agreements can be added to the Kerbhölzer. The work refers to the historical accounting method of Kerbhölzer.

The clearing system, which was used until the 19th century, was widespread in Europe and was frequently used in rural areas in particular. 

Even without coins, banknotes, or other forms of money, Kerbhölzer could be used for “barrier-free” trading, as the wood was easy to produce and did not require high-quality materials.
