The workers fountain embodies the idea and implementation of the 2013 work fountain studios. It is the second functional model based on the interpretation of the 1911 illustration “Pyramid of Capitalist System” by Nedeljkovich, Brashich & Kumarich.
The workers fountain replaces the actors visualized in the drawing at the different levels of the “capitalist pyramid” with the substance of water. This intervention results in a new function: the distribution of water. As is usual with functional models, a single system within complex structures is focused on and examined. In this work, it is the principle of distribution. Other schemes, such as “primitive accumulation” or “ownership of capital/means of production,” cannot be analyzed here.
